About the phases of hair growth
Hair follicles can be active (growing) or dormant, meaning that hair grows in cycles of different lengths. The length of the growth cycle and the degree of activity varies between different parts of the body. On the head, the growth cycle is up to 7 years and 90% of hair follicles are active. This can be compared to the hair on the arms and legs where the active growth cycle is a couple of months and where about 50% of the hair follicles are active. Several factors affect hair growth: heredity, hormones, nutritional status, age, etc. Hormone treatments or other types of treatment prescribed by a doctor may affect the result.
Things to consider before treatment
You should refrain from sunbathing 4-8 weeks before the treatment. Hair should preferably be shaved on the day of treatment or the day before.Do not wax, pluck or bleach your hair four weeks before and after treatment. The laser only works on the hair follicles that contain hair.

DOES THE TREATMENT HURT?
With an ice-cold prism and cold gel on the skin, combined with the new technology, pain is minimal. Many don’t feel anything and some feel a slight twinge during the treatment.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE REQUIRED?
It varies from person to person but usually between 6-8 treatments.The laser can only access the active hair follicles. Dormant hair follicles lack pigment and are therefore not heated by the laser pulses. There should be 4-8 weeks between treatments because you have to wait for the dormant follicles to become active again. Some clients may find that after a few treatments, it looks like they suddenly have more hair. The explanation is that the remaining dormant hair follicles are “activated” by the laser faster than they would have done without treatment. This is actually something positive – we can more easily remove these “newly activated” hair follicles during the next treatment!
