CO2 Laser Skin Improvement in Depth
CO2 laser is an advanced fractional laser treatment that effectively improves skin texture, reduces scars, evens out pigmentation and provides a firming effect. Using controlled microscopic damage, the skin’s own healing process is stimulated and collagen production is increased – leading to smoother, firmer and more youthful skin.
What is treated with CO2 laser?
-
CO2 laser is particularly effective for:
- Acne scars and other scars (surgical, traumatic)
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Stretch marks (striae)
- Uneven skin texture
- Large pores
- Hyperpigmentation and sun damage
- Sagging skin (especially around the eyes and mouth)
- Warts and some benign skin lesions
How does the treatment work?
During treatment, a fractional CO2 laser is directed at the area of skin in question. The laser creates microscopic holes in the skin, stimulating new collagen formation while leaving surrounding tissue intact for faster healing. The treatment is done under local anesthesia or numbing cream and can take between 30 and 90 minutes depending on the treatment area.
Who is a suitable candidate?
The treatment is suitable for you if:
- Have visible scars, wrinkles or other skin irregularities
- Have sun-damaged skin or pigmentation changes
- Wanting skin rejuvenation without surgery
- Has realistic expectations and is otherwise healthy
The treatment is not recommended for:
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women
- People with active acne or skin infection
- If you have recently used isotretinoin (Roaccutane)
- Darker skin types (risk of pigmentation changes exists – consultation required)
Things to consider before treatment
- Avoid direct sun exposure at least 4 weeks before
- Do not use sunless tanning products the week before
- Avoid retinol products 7 days before treatment
- Inform about any medications or illnesses
- Please come to the clinic without makeup
Aftercare – important for results and safety
-
After treatment, the skin may be red, swollen and feel like a light sunburn. Small scabs may form during the first few days.
-
Keep skin moisturized with recommended cream
-
Avoid makeup until skin is healed (about 5-7 days)
-
Protect skin from sun with high SPF for at least 2 months
-
Avoid saunas, exercise and swimming during the first week
-
Do not use exfoliating products during the healing period
Full recovery takes about 1-2 weeks, but results continue to improve for up to 6 months after treatment.
